Hello Travelers, mention you are planning a trip to Disney, and most people immediately think of Mickey Mouse ears, giant strollers, and exhausted toddlers. There is a massive misconception that once your children grow up and move out, your theme park days are officially over. People assume you outgrow the magic, pack up your bags, and move on to entirely different vacation destinations. My wife Michelle and I are here to happily debunk that myth. As the founders of Out A Here Travel, we have traveled all over the map—from the wild frontiers of Alaska down to the sunny coasts of Florida. We are also annual pass holders at Disney. We visit the parks continuously, and people constantly ask us how we don't get totally bored doing the same rides over and over again. The secret is surprisingly simple: we rarely spend our entire day waiting in line for theme park rides. When you visit Disney as an adult, a whole new landscape of entertainment opens up. You don't have to rush from attraction to attraction. Instead, you can pop into a park for four hours in the evening, grab a world-class dinner, and enjoy some fantastic live music. If you want to experience a completely different side of Orlando, grab your bags. We are going to show you exactly how to do Disney like an adult. Beyond the Theme Parks: A World of Adult-Friendly ActivitiesYou could easily spend an entire week on Disney property without ever stepping foot on a traditional roller coaster. The resort areas and entertainment districts offer a massive variety of laid-back, grown-up activities. Disney Springs: Shopping, Dining, and EntertainmentDisney Springs is a massive, sprawling complex dedicated entirely to incredible food, boutique shopping, and live entertainment. You can easily park your car here and use the incredibly convenient bus system to hop around to the different resort hotels for dinner. Exploring the various resort lobbies and lounges is an activity all on its own, offering spectacular architecture and high-end cocktails without the hustle and bustle of the main parks. Golfing & Water Parks If you want to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather, you have plenty of outdoor options. Disney boasts several premier golf courses designed for serious players. If you want something a bit more casual but still highly engaging, you have to check out their unique miniature golf courses. Forget the goofy windmills and clown mouths. These courses feature actual putting green scenarios complete with tricky corners and sand traps. When things get a bit too hot, you can easily cool off at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. These water parks are fantastic places to rent a shaded cabana, grab a cold drink, and float down the lazy river for hours. Epcot at Night: A Culinary and Cultural Journey Epcot completely transforms when the sun goes down. Exploring the World Showcase in the evening is easily one of our favorite things to do. It becomes a massive, interactive cultural festival where you get to decide if your night begins in Canada, Mexico, or somewhere in between. International Dining The restaurant selection inside Epcot is absolutely phenomenal. You can sit down for an incredible steak dinner in Canada, or venture over to the Chinese pavilion for some authentic cuisine. From British pub fare to incredible Italian dishes, the dining options cater beautifully to an adult palate. Enjoying Adult Beverages Walking around the World Showcase with a fantastic cocktail or a cold brew in hand is a staple of the adult Disney experience. I personally love stopping by the Rose & Crown Pub in the UK pavilion to grab a perfectly poured Guinness. Michelle usually opts for a specialty adult cocktail, and we will happily stroll through the different countries. If you prefer wine and champagne, the France pavilion has you covered. By the time we make our way around to Germany, I am usually ready to grab a classic Dunkel beer. The temperatures drop, the crowds shift, and right around 9:15 PM, the sky lights up with a spectacular evening fireworks show. It is the absolute perfect way to end the day. You do not need to look very hard to find romance and incredible nightlife scattered throughout the Disney property. Jazz and beignets at Port Orleans One of our absolute favorite date nights starts right at Disney Springs. You can hop on a relaxing boat ride down the canal that takes you directly to the Port Orleans resort. On Friday and Saturday nights, the resort hosts fantastic live jazz music. Last month, we grabbed some fresh, warm beignets, ordered a couple of cocktails, and sat back to listen to an incredibly talented fusion jazz band. It feels like you have been transported straight to New Orleans. Hollywood Studios After Dark Hollywood Studios brings a heavy dose of nostalgia and old-school California charm. At night, the neon lights click on, the classic music plays through the streets, and you get the distinct vibe of historic Hollywood and Vine. We love stopping by the Baseline Tap House. You can sit on the outdoor patio, share a massive charcuterie board, and sample some great California brews. Afterward, we like to walk over to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Even if you are not a massive sci-fi fan, the immersion is incredible. The lighting, the sound effects, and the sheer scale of the Millennium Falcon glowing in the dark make for a fantastic evening stroll. Relaxation and Recreation at Disney Resorts Taking an adult vacation means you dictate the schedule. There is zero pressure to wake up at the crack of dawn to beat the crowds. If you want to maintain your fitness routine, the resorts offer beautiful, scenic running tracks. You can spend the entire afternoon lounging by the resort pool with a good book, soaking up the sun, and completely unwinding. Once you feel fully rested, you can casually get dressed and head out for an evening excursion to Epcot or Disney Springs for dinner. It is a completely stress-free way to vacation. Culinary Delights at Disney Springs Speaking of dinner, we have to talk a bit more about the food scene at Disney Springs. There are four or five different venues where you can simply walk around and listen to live music playing in the background. You can grab an iced tea, a specialty coffee, or a craft cocktail while you browse the incredible snack options. You have to try the famous, half-pound cookies from Gideon's Bakehouse. If you want something cold, there are fantastic ice cream parlors. They even have a shop dedicated to giant, over-the-top donuts. You will absolutely not go hungry here. Planning your Adult Disney Adventure Doing Disney as an adult is all about how you plan it. That is exactly where Out A Here Travel steps in. We specialize in sitting down with you, having a relaxed conversation, and designing a trip that perfectly matches your vacation style. We can even help you look beyond the Disney property. Orlando has a massive variety of entertainment options. If you are a basketball fan, we can easily work an Orlando Magic game into your itinerary. During soccer season, you can head downtown to watch the professional men's or women's teams play. There is a vibrant city waiting to be explored right outside the theme park gates. Ready for your Grown-Up Orlando Vacation
